Who better to ask for such information then the person that has the source code?

Maybe a place where 30+ people who have tried it on 30+ different sets of hardware and not just the 1 or 2 hardware configs that the person with the source code has tested it on?

In this case the request was for " I know I'm missing something basic, but could not figure out how to configure Einstein to buff myself." the type of hardware being used shouldn't matter as it is an operational question. Even then if something isn't working for your hardware/software configuration do yo think it might be good to let the programmer know so they can see if there is a bug in their app?

Yes, but ...

Well yes, I know that but I'm less likely to get chewed a new arsehole asking for the help here.

That isn't the case.

He already said he knew where to go to contact the author, he made a conscience choice NOT to go there, but rather stay here and ask others.

He knows what he was asking, he just didn't want to get a "new arsehole chewed" by that author ... or maybe he wanted an answer other than "Why don't you do a google search?".

Dunno, but either way, the person that made that request knows where to go, he just didn't want to go there.

Sure it is, the choice made in the matter doesn't change the situation.

I have checked the decal forums - I tend to read them on a daily basis to check Decal status and what not.

There are a ton of posts about how they could not install Einstein.... prior to Gouru including an installer.

Thats not my issue. My issue is how to get it to actually buff myself. There is nothing in the readme included with the program, nor on his website that I saw, nor on the Decal site.

If I posted that, it would be about thirty seconds before Gouru or someone came along and chewed me a new arsehole, which quite frankly, I don't really need - I like my current one fine. So hence, here I am.

Search tool there is your friend. Doing a search the second link it came up with had the answer to your question. In this thread Gouru answered a question about getting Einstien to buff yourself: http://forums.acdev.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3775

Not all plugins have a site to ask questions for starters. Plus you can share information about how you configured something such as a XML configuration file for a given plugin. I've posted some of my custom XML files for Castaway here as well as on the Castaway forums for others to see and use as they like.

I no longer do support of It! plugins on ACVault. There is a 'plugin support' section on forums.acdev.org that I monitor and answer questions until such time as I have my own forums.
