my system runs on intel p4 3.0 ghz with 1 gig RAM and video card is radeon x600 256mb plug n play.

after an hour or so of running 2 clients, i start to have problems. one of the clients will crash at least once every 30 mins. when running 3 clients, at least 1 client will crash every 10-15 mins.

if i add 1 or 2 more gigs of ram, will that help avoid the problem or do i also have to upgrade my video card? if i need a better video card, what/which would u recommend?

my isp is cox cable runnin at 36 mbps.

help plz

I think my laptop (the one I try to use dual client on) doesnt have enough RAM for dual logging. When I switch between clients after logging in the second I get a blue screen and have to restart my computer. I have a gig of ram yet it still crashes, I dont know if this is the same problem that you have.

I do believe that AC is a huge graphics hog, and so is Decal... With my radeon 9800se and 1 gig of ram I can only run 2 clients at once if I have decal turned OFF.

Im running 3clients with Drakiers and decal also. I do however only run 1 client active and only log in other ones during muling. P4 2,8ghz 1 gig of ram Radeon 9800 Pro. In Windows joblist/running processes Acclient uses: 57k-58k-59k.Dual:11k and decal 5,4k , but thats not logged ingame.

Also found out that i can only run it in low quality when 2 accounts is logged in otherwise i get a BSOD at times.Says its in Ati3duag.dll. Dunno if you can use it to anything.

The post ToD version of the client does require more graphics power and you MUST remember that Decal is still in Alpha status. Which means it that Decal may work (or not), it may be stable (or it may not be stable). The version that works with Tank if you read here and the Decal Forums is currently Alpha 3, and that has code for the HUD that reaches mostly works/ for most people level and little beyond because the need to rewrite it to interact and work smoothly and efficently with DX9 related bits of ToD. HUD stands for 'Heads Up Display', which is a fancy way of saying 'What appears in those little windows' decal creates, I.E. the graphics (just a FYI for those who were unaware).

As I seem to have mangled in another post, I expect to see at least *2* more Decal alpahs at a minium, but the is *ABSULUTE PURE SPECULATION* on my part. I don't code and have no connection with the Decal Dev's.

Edit for a wrongly timed tab/enter combo.

I've run four clients with Decal and full hardware settings on this PC. But, I couldn't do anything else other than run those clients.

As others have said, I think it's proportional to how fast your processor is, how much RAM you have, and how good your video card is. If you can, minimize all but the active client. I've found that they use a lot less memory that way, but certain plugins may not work correctly if you do so.

Looks like a video card issue to me. I have a 3ghz P4 with 1 gig of ram and a nVidia Geforce FX 5900 Ultra w/256 megs of ram.

I can run decal on two clients with all the eye candy turned all the way up without issues. I usually have 3-5 IE windows open at the same time to boot. I keep both clients in windowed mode as well (not sure if this makes a difference).
