The plugin itself is straightforward, but what I need from you is help making a list of bad words. I need you to come up with swear words, vulgar words, and racial slurs that you wouldn't want your kids seeing ingame. Once you've thought up a bunch, please send them to me at rubyduchess@hotmail.com. Do NOT post them here.


Edit: Be sure to include some popular misspellings that are just as bad!

I get the feeling some people would not be very happy with the prospect of a thread filled with bad words. Besides, that would go against the whole point of the plugin!

Could you somehow incorporate this and maybe the Virindi Booter program? The idea being this.


If you could, then you could not only have a "Virindi Nanny" for personal use, but it could also be used to monitor the /a channel. You could then set it up so that if a person uses a "banned word" x times (user defined) then they would be booted out of the guild chat channel. That lasts until the log back in. Further, you could maybe have it so that if a person uses a "banned word" y times (user defined) they are booted from the guild.


For example: 5 bad words in a 24 hour period, and they are "warned" with a boot from the /a channel. 20 bad words in a 24 hour period and they are booted from the guild.


Just an idea.

Um...you could use SWGs list and make sure you censor 'christ'...

In my opinion, automatically booting people whose names you haven't reviewed from the guild is a BAD idea. However, there could be a log option in the new plugin so that you may take a look at who has been saying what while you were gone and perhaps take action by adding them to your bootlist.


By the way, the new plugin will be named "Virindi Censor".

I don't consider 'christ' a bad word. There will however be an option to add custom bad words in addition to the built-in ones for people that may find any mention of Jesus to be offensive

As for the "ban" idea, I wouldn't personally use it. MAYBE the "boot" option out of /a chat. The log file would be useful though.
