This is what I did. I uninstalled the decal I had. I downloaded and installed decal alpha 5b. I then uninstalled eltank, deleted all files and folders in the eltank folder. I then deleted the registry entries for eltank in decal plugins/eltank in my registry.

Then I installed Eltank Version 2.6.0.20 Beta 5. I unchecked AC Tool Companion and DHS, and left Eltank as the only checked plugin. I hit the update button in decal. So, then I log into AC with decal on. It logs in fine, except I don't see the components HUD element at all. I went in and selected all the component types in eltank options, still no HUD. I unselected and reselected the "show component HUD" option, but no change.

When I would click on show Tracking GUI, Elnav, or the buffbot, it gives me an odd error message, "Run-Time error '5' Invalid procedure call or argument" in a little popup box. I click ok (only button on the box) and it goes away, and the game doesn't crash. But, error messages are scrolling like mad in my main chat window. It says...

It just scrolls these errors forever. If I never click on show the other GUIs, I can buff and attack just fine. I have all the extra installers I need in order to run eltank as listed in the download page, such as MSXML3 sp5, MSXML4 sp2, and VB runtimes. I have everything it tells me to install. Now, finally my decal export...

One more thing. I notice that it isn't saving any of my options changes when I relog. Also, the client crashes every time I log off. I removed ac companion and DHS from my plugin list, so now eltank is the only plugin in the list. Here is my export.

Well, I got the new decal to DL and update just fine. The first time round, I got a windows error.

Unfortunately, I got a windows error when trying to get ingame when I used the new El Tank.

Anyone having any luck?

For those that uninstalled the old decal and tank, cleaned out your registry, then got the endless looping error 97's when you attempted to turn on El Track or El Nav, this work around may help.

Again: This may fix the endless repeating errors on a clean install. If you got the errors on an upgrade install it may not apply to you.

Disclaimer

Edit your registry AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! If you don't know what you are doing - then don't try this at home. (I have to say that.)

Exit game, shut down DECAL.

Open your registry to HKLM\Software\Decal Plugins\EL Tank\<char name>

Find the "GUI" value. If the value does not exist, creat a new DWORD reg value called GUI in your character's key.

Assign it a value according to what you want enabled:

0 = Main EL Tank only

1 = EL Track

2 = EL Nav

3 = Track + Nav

If this is a brand new install, and you logged in and out at least once without crashing, that value should be Zero ("0" to start. If it is not already zero, then this fix will not work for you.

It appears that you coded some migration code into this new version of Tank. It looks for that GUI setting, and if that value <> 0 it writes the new window position coords into the registry.

What I suspect is happening, is if that value = 0, and you then attempt to turn on El Track or El Nav, the code is failing to both update the GUI value and write the window coords.
