There is a utility somewhere in the Decal Forums that wwill clean out all the Decal Related Registry Keys from your registry. Try running that to get a cleaner uninstall.

Nice, how soon before we get a fix to decal alpha that once again permits loading toons with a dash in the name?

I told you before, the problem is utterly unrelated to having a dash in one's name. Please keep the armchair dev at home.

it may be a filter problem HAZ but decal/filter/findit certain has a KNOWN problem with dashs in names.
FYI I"m the second person on this forum to report it, and i can dupe the error at will.
please go check up on the latest postings about decal 5d over on the developer forum.
FYI i may be an armchair developer when it comes to decal/filters/findit. but with over thirty years in software development I can spot a bug when i see it. so please keep you snide armchair comments to yourself.

Like I bloody told you before, the code doesn't deal with dashes in any way, shape, or form. The bug is entirely unrelated to the presence of lack thereof of a DASH in the name. There are a million permutations of character data in the character login packet and the problem is with the protocol handler, NOT HAVING A DASH IN YOUR NAME.
30 years in software development means jack when you're clearly not capable of overcoming superstition. Just because you and someone else is crashing when you both have dashes in your name does not mean the problem comes from having a dash in your name. Dashes are not special in any way. Dashes are just another character in whichever character set the code is using.

I have 30 years in Development, and still every once in while get caught where some odd input sequence causes unexpected concequence. Think of the Wi flag.

If the problem was a dash in the name, then NO toon with a dash in the name would be able to login. Buff al-Obob is working just fine on Morningthaw. Ergo..

No Goruo the problem with the dash starts specifically (for me) after attempting log the monarch with a dash in the name and then after, till a reboot, ALL attempts at logging in a dash char crash.

I have 4 characters logged in right now with dashes in their name, and one of them starts with a dash.
So please, stfu.
