I have a similar request posted below just moments ago.

Suggestion for us lunkheads...perhaps you could post two version of MakeIt! - one with the recipe files in it and one without. Because as simple as this may seem the way it is, it's not. However, most people can DL and run an install file.

Not gonna happen.

If people can't copy one file, and type in one command, they should not be anywhere near electronic devices.

To add recipes, go to the Recipe tab.

Click on an item (for example, a bag of flour) and press the 'Use' button.

Click another item (for example, water) and press the 'On' button.

Press the 'test' button. If it is a valid recipe, your toon should then make something (in this case 'dough'

In the top drop down, select 'Cooking Ingredients' near the bottom of the list. (or whatever category you want to put this particular recipe in.

Then hit the 'Add Recipe to XML' button, viola, the recipe gets added as the violins play.

While I agree with second part of the statement (it takes all of two seconds)...

Why not just include it with the base install? I don't see the reasoning, and while you have no need to explain yourself as its your plugin... I'm sure others are curious as well.

The reasoning was the subject of an entirely different thread, with a condensed version given in the announcment on the download page. (It's the second sentence if you read it). So I DID explain my reasoning, and did so in some depth in an earlier thread, that really, I'm not up to going through again.

Why not have two installs? Twice the work every single time I do a release, and making install packages is not one of the things I do for fun.

Honath, it appears you have the proper msxml, and your user config is getting updated properly with the recipe file name. And this point it would appear to be either the new recipefile not being copied to the right place, or something wrong with the file itself.

If you get DebugView from sysinternals ( http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/DebugView.html ) you can view the Make It! debug output. Scan it for references to the loading the recipe file. If it is not clear from a scan, feel free to email it to me and I can review it for you.

OK, that was strange...I d/led the tracer program and restarted my PC. When I logged in the 'Potions and Beer' section came up. I must have done something wrong here, but the new file is great

Thanks for the help Gouru
