After much heartache and wrestling with 3yr old code, I have decided to re-do BS/2 in .NET

There is no ETA, but I'm working very hard on this

I do not anticipate initial version to have the following (in the likelyhood order):

1) Mob statistical profiling

2) Vendor and Tradebot scanning

3) Scanning for items on the ground

So that means that Mob statistical profiling is least likely to make it, while scanning of items on the ground is most likely

Also, you should be aware of the following:

1) Old profiles will not likely be upward compatible

2) .NET v2 framework will need to be installed (this shouldn't be a big deal)

3) Plugin is being streamlined and optimized

4) At the same time I will be utilizing a large portion of existing code to speed the development. This is not a redesign from scratch and will not take /that/ long to develop.

5) Anything I said above is subject to change.

Also, a big thank you to two people who have donated so far. Donations for my past work are very much appreciated (paypal link is on BS2 website)

Thanks for your time and support.

I'm sure once you have it up, it'll have been well worth it Faile. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the public update

EDIT:

Any word on BanditChat or SpellWords. I know you never planned for people using SpellWords as much as some of us do, but I still loved that plugin for it's solo purpose. I imagine since they're smaller it would be easier to update those, but I don't want to take time away from BanditSight.

I'm staying away from Bandit Chat for now, as it seems that Decal devs are still doing work with HUDs. Integral part of BC are the huds. I dont intend on re-writing BC as it should be simple enough to just modify to comply (assuming that HUD rework is not terribly huge).

Same goes for Bandit Monarch and Bandit Trading Partner.

Spellwords are very very last on the priority list, as their implementation can be found in various other (hopefully working) plugins

Edit: now that I think on it, I dont see a reason to not move Spellwords into Bandit Chat when I re-do Bandit Chat. Functionality is similar in intent.

Since you are doing a partial rewrite, perhaps you could look into this.

I used Sixth Sense after comparing its reach, radar-wise, and found that Sixth Sense reached further than Bandit did. My friend and I each tried both programs. He stayed with Bandit because of its complex programmability and I went with Sixth because of the larger radar that I had and the fact that I didn't want to have to learn how to program Bandit. We hunted together for years and it was always so. I found things before he did consistently.

It looks like I won't be able to use Sixth Sense any longer (nor Combater), and I just wanted to point out that it is possible to make the plugin see further and express my hopes that Faile can achieve that in the new Bandit.
