I posted a reply on that thread, my God, ignorant people running around screaming at the sky...
The answer is stupidly simple Turbine, make character names appear as a green link in ALL CHATBOXES...
It is so damn handy, why DIDN'T they do this, esp. on the Trade channel?

You say, "FOR THE VITAE!"
Ru tells you, "CHAZ!"
Simply Red tells you, "I am SO not recovering your body!"

Better solution is to not allow the changnig of text colors that go to the chat windows that other players can see.

I'm 99% sure that the green text in chat is acting like a hyperlink (I.E. you can clcik on a persons green name to atuomatically @tell them) you can modify our /tell like inorder to get your message to become green and rout it to @tell you. or I'm sure some others have had other bad intentions.
I dont think that they will have an issue if your plugins changes text to green for jsut you to see.

You mean the <Tell:IIDString:1:Character name here>green text here</Tell> stuff?

Virindi Censor does that already. It adds tell-like links to global chat channels and allegiance chat. Just uncheck the other options...it's handy
I don't see why it would be against the rules to use it in chat. That'd be pretty silly. It's not like you can do a link to a webpage or anything.

I say give us the option to turn it off entirely, myself...
That text hurts my eyes, and with people spamming it in random locations it begins to become bothersome. I'd rather just turn it off...or even better yet, filter anything like that...
And yes GoL, that's what they're referring to...

Virindi Censor also lets you filter out green text entirely

I mean in the client... I don't want to get a plugin to remove stuff that Turbine put in just because it gives me a headache...that should be Turbine's duty.
Sides, unless VCS has IRC functionality, I've long since gotten free of plugins that edit the chat.

<<Sides, unless VCS has IRC functionality>>
Nah. Even if I did want to write a plugin that did IRC, it would be a separate plugin.
