I argee with Drakier not to go to much automated, before you know it you

are autovulning, autotargeting and autohealing etc...

If that is your thing then this is not a plugin for you and should go with eltank

and other combat macros.

I personaly don't mind fletching arrows manualy myself, but I don't see any harm

in autofletching and I had some fletching code from before Tod that's why I did copy it in..

What the next step (even beyond just archers) should be is to allow the user to equip the correct rend weapon based on what creature they are fighting...

Awesome, I might actually log in and play AC for the first time in two months. Valet was one of my favorite plugins, it made huntingareas with varied spawns much easier. Thanks!

I don't see a need for Auto-Fletch personally... I think if you're out of that kind of ammo, it should try the next best thing until you're completely out of ammo, in which case, it would stop doing anything.

I can only see bad things from a plugin which allows archers to automatically do everything in hunting... I can see this as being used as a tool for ELTank or LifeTank if the Auto-Fletch is put in.... without Auto-Fletch I think it has less UCM meritand more of a playing/hunting aid.

Not that my opinion matters that much, but at least think about it.

this along with eltank or LTX already has the functionality of a macro, even without autofletch.

Ammo Gimp is great. I've used it a couple days before patch and it works like a champ. Thanks a ton for it, life without Valet had gotten very awkward for my archer.

Now I DO have have one small question (NOT a complaint, just a question hehe).

I noticed that if I put my arrows in a side pack, AG didn't see them when I equipped a new bow and assumed that I was out of arrows and went and fletched a new bundle. No big deal, I can keep my arrows in the main pack when I hunt.

BUT, when AG went to fletch the new bundle, it FOUND my fletching supplies in a side pack and used them. (there were none in the main pack) I'm just wondering why it can find the fletching supplies in a side pack, but not a bundle of arrows that are already made?

Thanks again.

Very nice plug in, Would it be possable in next version to stay in combat mode after changeing bow? seems like when in combat mode and I change bow it will come out of bowstance after equiping. Also would it be possable to have both options equip bow then arrow and the option to choose arrow first then bow would automaticly equip?

Thanks for the great plug in, good work,

BB

I would like that functionality as well!

I haven't tried the plugin yet (but I will), but is there a way to turn off the autofletch function? I prefer to fletch my arrows myself by splitting my wrapped bundles.

I can make that optional although I can not understand why anyone would prefer that over

selecting a bow. It must be a matter of playstyle.

For example I do always carry at least 8 bows which are 3 slashing, 2 fire, 2 lightning and one blunt bow

When I equip Slashing arrows I might want a ar,cs or a rending bow

But I try to figure out something and yes you can switch of autofletching.

I'll try to explain why I always equipped arrows and let valet equip the bow. You're correct though that if I'm carrying several bows that would all use the same arrow type then I couldn't do it that way. This is useful only when hunting with rending bows. However I don't have hi wield AR bows in the different damage types. I carry a variety of rending bows and one good 290 wield AR bow (and one CS) for all damage types when I need AR or CS. When I'm hunting with the AR or the CS I am never switching bows, just arrows. The value for me of AG (and valet before it) is for hunting and questing mixed mobs with my Rending bows.

It's mostly because of the game mechanics. Selecting new arrows and letting the plugin equip your bow is much faster in battle.

Imagine you have no plugins helping at all, and have several bows AND arrow types on your hotkeys.

If you are in war mode and simply hit a hotkey to equip a different bow this is what happens:

1. you drop to peace mode

2. you switch bows

3. you return to war mode

If you are in war mode and hit a hotkey to equip a different type of arrow, this is what happens:

1. you drop to peace mode

2. you switch to the new arrows

3. you STAY in peace mode -- this is the important difference.

Because of that difference, I have always made a habit of switching arrows before I switched my bow when doing everything manually. It saves one keystroke (manually going out of war mode at the start) AND it avoids the possibility of accidentally going back into war mode before I change arrows.

With Ammo Gimp, if I'm in war mode and hit a kotkey for a new bow, what happens is

1. I drop to peace mode

2. I switch bows

3. I go back into war mode

4. I drop to peace mode again

5. I switch arrows

That cycling into and out of war mode in the middle of the process takes a lot of time when a mob is pounding on you If I remember to drop to peace mode before hitting my hotkey AND if the game doesn't ignore the keystroke (it can and does, more often then I like) then I'm ok doing it that way.

On the other hand, if AG would equip a bow when I equip arrows, it would always happen this way, with no chance of time consuming mistakes on my part:

I'm in war mode and hit the hotkey for a different arrow type and:

1. I drop to peace mode

2. I switch arrows

3. I switch bows

Lastly, the one other great idea that Valet implemented was to go to war mode automatically after it finished. So one keystroke while in war mode would completely change my weapon and ammo and leave me in war mode, as quickly as automation can accomplish it.

I hope this all made sense. If any of it doesn't I'll be happy to try to explain better.

Thanks, I noticed that after I installed it real quick this morning.

Jothony explained it pretty well.

The other thing that was good about Valet is that you could assign a particular arrow type to a certain bow and vice versa.

I could have my Fire Rend bow tied to fire arrows and my Ultimate Singularity Bow tied to fire arrows as well. If I didn't bring my Fire bow along and equipped fire arrows it would then equip my Sing bow.

Question:

How does it work for AR (x)bows? If I were to equip an AR Fire bow does it equip fire arrows? What if I want slash arrows for the situation combined with my AR fire bow if I'm not carrying an AR Slash bow?
