Just got Decal & everytime I try to update, I get the following...

Download failed Interface not registered

Could not obtain updatelist.xml Cannot update hosting server down?

I got the decal utility, & it shows as updating, then I get those messages.

What am I missing? Thanks!

May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.

What? You don't like the answer you're getting on the ACDev forums. so you figured you'd try your luck here?

The problem is CLEARLY outlined and explained on the ACDev Forums if you actually look for it... The problems I see are as follows

1) You're not reading all the threads and information on the subject.. try doing a "Search" on the ACDev Forums for information.

2) You're using the Update button... don't!

It's intresting that your bringing the Drama over here though Drak.

You need to stick to topic. Maybe he/she is not getting the answer they want on your boards.

They are entitled to freely post over here.

Just remember that. Gotta be fair on this one sir.

No offense or punts intended towards you Demi or you Drak.

I'm saying that with a little searching, Demi could have found the answer without needing to post on EITHER board.. first there was this identical post on the ACDev forums.. the question was answered (fairly well I might add) IN the original thread. But I guess that wasn't enough for demi.. *shrug* I don't know why.

I'm not trying to cause drama.. I'm just saying.. the question was already answered once, and wouldn't have even needed to be answered if Demi would have done a "Search" first on the ACDev forums.. this topic has been discussed into the ground.

Not your business to moderate boards that do not pertain to your moderation.

Think hard about that.

Nothing hard to think about. Question was answered, then crossposted AFTER it was answered, which is a BLOODY RETARDED THING TO DO. End of story.

who ever said I was trying to moderate anything?

I'm just making a statement that this post wasn't needed.. neither was the other post.. especially if someone would have used the "Search" feature that was built into the board system specifically to... SEARCH through posts!

The Search on the ACDev Forums works REALLY well ... a little too well sometimes... Put in the words "Interface Not Registered" into the Search and you get a LOT of posts.. most of the top 5 actually haveing SOME information relevant to the problem.

Beyond that, Demi's question WAS answered on the ACDev forums.. (and it wasn't answered by me if that's what you're wondering).

All I'm asking is for people to do a little self-help and research their questions.. half of the time, if the question is researched, it never even ends up getting asked, because they find the answer themselves.. and that's a GOOD thing.. that's the way it should be. It doesn't waste anyone's time.. The people ANSWERING the questions don't have to waste their time answering the same question over and over again, and the person who HAS the question can actually LEARN something from searching on their own. It's a win-win situation.

Unless you're the type of person who expects to be spoon-fed in which case, you're going to get replies like this.

Not if he/she wants to put that same question on 20 boards. (That is their choice!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just like it's yours to post something regarding the actions of another person's CHOICE.)

I guess in a way it's a bit hypocrytical I'm even trying to correct you. I guess I need to stop too.

Nuff said, you got my point. Scream, shout and defend yourselves to no end after this. I am done here.

But remember, Choices are choices, and if you "Choose" to troll/OT post, you risk a "VN BOARDS" BANSTICK!

I will make sure the mods know. K?

And an obtuse point it was too.

Lol.. you reported me to the Contact Moderators thread?

You do realize that the Contact Moderators thread is for emergency issues.. of which this is not.. it's not even a ToS violation.

I'm not trolling, baiting, or otherwise doing anything in this post that would warrant even a warning.

I'm making a statement that when people make posts asking questions they already have the answers to... it's a waste of their time, and everyone elses time who looks at it with the intent of helping.. especially when as it has already been pointed out.. the question was answered.

so no.. I don't get your point. I'm saying.. people need to do a little work on their own before expecting to be spoon-fed the answers... ESPECIALLY when they've already been spood-fed the answers, but refuse to accept the answer they've been given.
