Is this even possible anymore?

My graphics card/motherboads combination won't let me use XP - cheap MB.

Any help?

I would say that if you somehow got it to run then consider yourself lucky.

"Decal probably does not function AT ALL in operating systems older than Windows 2000."

Win 98, and ME are no longer supported, per Decal Forums.

It used to work when I played Pre-ToD, though I did have some major problems with it

Unless Microsoft released .net for win 98 (which I doubt), decal shouldn't be capable of running on windows 98.

Just the way it is; i'd strongly suggest upgrading your os.

isn't .NET already released for Windows 98?

ACDualClient was written in C# which is a .NET language, and it works with Win98 just fine.. That isn't exactly Decal's issue with Win98.. the problem is very much Injection and Hook related and the core of decal currently doesn't function very well with Win98 in general.

We dropped full support of Win98 because Microsoft did, and we're planning on dropping support for Win2K whenever Microsoft drops support for it as well.. That doesn't mean we're going to intentionally break anything for Win2K, but we aren't going to go out of our way to make it work for an unsupported OS either.

Yes, but soon, they will not wish to ... no more updates.

Microsoft shuts down Windows 98

Microsoft is urging an estimated 70 million users of Windows 98 to upgrade as it ends support for the software.

From 11 July, Microsoft will no longer help users over the phone with any problems they have with the ageing operating system.

The firm will also stop providing security updates for Windows 98 from the same date.
