We have two buffbots at the mansion, both running the same xml and Castaway. Every so often they'll ID too many pieces of armour to be buffed, but manage to buff the armour correctly. Our problem lies with one particular character ...

This character is aluvian, dagger. He wears an armet, amuli, gaunts and sollies (pretty standard stuff). The bots are using the standard armour buffing routine in the xml. He follows instructions, putting the armour into the trade window, the bot id's it, reports the number of pieces, then tells which bane routines are able to be done. The character issues the command for the bane routine, and the bot responds with a comment about no armour having been placed in the window, or he is already buffed. This happend several times. Both bots relogged ... no affect.

Is it possible this character has some sort of a trade window bug? Or does anyone have any ideas? If the armour is handed off to another character, it is able to be baned without issue ... we're scratching our heads here - any help at all?

Are you SURE he is hitting the close window and not clear all button? If hitting clear all button that might be why bot thinks nothing been put in. Just a thought.

You don't hit the close button on the trade window, it is closed as the bot goes to buff the character. I run one of the bots, and walked the guy through it while on the bot's computer. First we thought bugged armour, but there is something more going on here - when the armour is handed to another character and the same sequence gone through, the bot will buff it. I saw something similar to this posted on the Castaway forums a couple months back, but did not see any resolution ...

I have witnessed same problem on our bot, but only when the person opens the trade window and asks for the specific bane first instead of just telling bot "buffarmor" and allowing bot to open the window. I have watched them do it repeatedly till they get frustrated and leave- even tho they get the instructions on how to do it correctly every time and fail to read them.

It's user error.

I've seen a person swear they were hitting Button A to the point of getting red in the face and screaming.

The whole time they were hitting Button B.

The fun part is when they realize it.

You say, "FOR THE VITAE!"
Ru tells you, "CHAZ!"
Simply Red tells you, "I am SO not recovering your body!"

I would need to see a debug file from Castaway to get an idea if there is a problem on our end. You running the latest release of Castaway?

I'll look at modifying it so that it if detects no armor it will tell the person to use the buffarmor command. After that if they fail to read then there is not much I can do about that.

Maddy, also if you could restict banning to 10 items it would help for stupid people that dump their whole pack (by mistake) to window and jammup the bot id'ing 100 items...?
