Character name, monarch name, server, ltx version and old account ID.

Please note that this old account ID is NOT your login id, it is either a turbine assigned encrypted account name or an old zone name, neither of which could be used for any purpose nowadays.

This data is encrypted before it is sent, to ensure that no one can view this data openly.

None of that information needs to be send.

I think Kinslayer is just saying why send it? The authorization is not really needed in his honest opinion.

ELTank doesn't send anything other than a request for the current Auth file. All processing is then done locally.

It has additional checks to make sure the file is coming from the right place and is a valid file, but other than that, it needs to send nothing out.

Different designs to do the same thing I guess. I used to send character name and ID for stat tracking, when I first added auths, but it became pointless after a while.
