That's a known issue and akilla has fixed it, he just hasn't released the new version yet.

2.8ghz

1024 RAM

win xp (fully updated)

i dunno man, your computer should be more then capable or running AC for hours and hours....


You said you tested each one of the 3 individually? meaning with no other plugins running?

correct, each plugin separately and by itself.


and each crash was usually after 4+ char switches (combination of relogging same char vs. logging different chars; couldn't find a pattern)

One thing that will help is to be really slow on switching toons.

I've been questioning this since tod and decal3 came about. All I get is the same rhetoric from the decal devs. Everyone says there is no problem with decal and every plug-in dev says there is no problem with their plug-in. Yet each and every session of AC comes with crashes.


I just suck it up and feel a bit relieved knowing it's not just me.

Is it possible the problem is incorrectly assigning memory? (I don't know much about this, just brainstorming)


Ie, one plugin has a block of memory "claimed" and another plugin is trying to use those same blocks while they're still "in use" even if the original plugin is supposed to be completely unloaded?

FYI

It has been posted that decal is memory hungry, and eltank,lifetank and other plugins use their fair share of memory to.


Every machine is different, so some may crash and some may not.....about the only thing you can do at this point is wait for the full release of decal.


Then the plugins follow.

Hmm, i get these same crashes all the time, even on the 1st character change sometimes.


with 1.5gig of ram, that has to be one "huge" mem leak!


Could it somehow be related to directX/decal connection?


PS: With just DHS loaded i cant seem to make it crash

that's because we've been saying for a while that it's not a Decal issue but is actually something in the plugins themselves (usually with the startup/termination code and not properly releasing things).
