I am unable to install the new Decal...It tries to install and 3/4 of the way through just stops. I get an error message that says "An error occurred while trying downloading a required file." I have uninstalled decal and decal plugins a number of times, cleared temp files, turned off firewall, rebooted the computer,...Decal devs have made it too difficult to install this time and they cant tell me what to do....I am not a computer nerd so am getting extremely frustrated to the point of almost wanting to play another game, if Turbine isnt going to accomodate players with a program similar to decal.. If any of you guys can help I would greatly appreciate it..mlp633@yahoo.com

Thanks!!! Mar

Tried again.. same thing.. wish I could provide an export.. No Decal to produce one.. Same thing happened with last version.. can someone please post the file itself... and we can download and try installing that way..

Check the security permissions on Decal's program folder. On both of my systems, the Decal install cleared the permissions list.

I'm at a loss to what your problem is. It seems strange you'd be able to install Decal alpha7, but not 8

Have you tried running the Setup.exe from your computer and not off the website directly?

(aka... click Save As on the file, then once it's fully downloaded, run it from there)

I had no problem with the last version of Decal so it must be some problem with Decal itself..I have saved Decal download to decal folder and tried to install it with no luck. I also tried saving it to desktop and downloading it from there with no luck. I wish they had left the past version of Decal alone until they had an official version of the new one, as they usually do. bahh humbug..... I dont like playing ac without Decal and Lifetank, although I prefer Eltank.....Mar

Marlio: This IS the latest official version.

We killed off the old one because we don't want people using it anymore. This latest version was extensively tested, and never encountered that problem. We wouldn't have killed off the old one had there been problems with this latest one.

You can attempt to go to the decal.msi path that is listed a couple of posts up and install that directly, but that's really only a band-aid and doesn't help us or you fix the actual problem.

Drakier is there anything different about this new Decal than the other one? I just cant figure out what the problem is....I tried changing my security settings but I dont think it made any difference so restored computer. I have also cleared out all temp folders and cookies. Also, anyone have any suggestions? I;ve never had problems with Decal to this extent, prior to trying to install the new one. Thanks Mar

Someone told me if I unenabled my network connection and turned it back on that may help but Im afraid to try that...Do any of you think it may help??
