This is a repeat of your old thread where none of us could figure why you and you alone can not install Decal.

Since there is no one here that can help you, my suggestion is go here:

http://forums.acdev.org/phpBB2/

and work with the Decal developers. If they can not help you then you will just have to do without.

have you tried runnig the program from the site, and not download it?

had some people on hg that couldnt install, and running it from the site worked for them.

and hopefully you are installing from decaldev.com, and not some third party site..

the problem the above people had, was thet they would not get the microsoft eula for the directx upgrade part of the install( the three steps on the page)...from downloading it..

Uninstall everything from the add/remove programs in your conroll pannel first

Put all the unused in the trash can and delete. Reinstall after the new is loaded and runs.

P.S. with a high speed line your not even looking at an hour of time or was it two I was doing other stuff at the time.

as I said before.. the line that troubles me the most is...

(12/31/2006 8:03:16 PM) Downloading 'decal.msi' from 'http://core.decaldev.com/files/2960/decal.msi' to ''

which basically says it's trying to download the decal.msi file from our server, and putting it.... nowhere.

That second set of quotes is usually a destination path, and is usually %temp%. I have no idea why your download isn't working, but it has something to do with that path is my guess.

Why not try downloading the decal.msi directly?

Put http://core.decaldev.com/files/2960/decal.msi in your browser and save it to your desktop and then run it from there.

I had problems with one computer and after copying the decal.msi from another PC it worked fine.

Good luck.
