Whenever I try to log onto two accounts at the same time with Drakiers Dual Client and having LT/Spies running it will crash one of the clients. I get a Game Error "Could not initialize Direct3D. Please ensure that DirectX 9.0 or higher is installed.


Then a Game encounteded a fatal DirectX issue while attempting to start. Try a different screen resolution or bit depth. If that doesn't work, try new video drivers.


And then finally a Asheron's Call: ACCLient.exe- Application Error: The instruction at "0x7c901010" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read".


This only happens when I have "Spies" running along with Lifetank.

Lifetank and Spies always crash when I run to them together. Hey dual client still works?

ok now it's happening whether I have decal on or not. This is really odd considering it worked just fine last night. It wasn't up until I tried to run LT/Spies together that I started getting this issue.

Got me Though, I haven't tried since the new decal release.. I honestly haven't even logged in yet with the new decal.

yes I've tried windowed mode as well. Nothing seems to cure it. I really need to reformat though so that is my next step to attempting a fix since I can't find any answers anywhere else. I noticed a few people on Drakier's site came up with this same error but he claims it is a game/hardware issue and is beyond his scope to fix it. My only guess is that my computer needs a good reformat and maybe another gig of memory to help compensate how much RAM is being utilized by Dual Client and AC with decal itself.

I claim it's beyond my scope to fix it because ACDualClient has nothing to do with DirectX.


Once ACDualClient launches the launcher, it's task is pretty much done. I use a Filter in Decal to help with path and account management, but beyond that, ACDualClient doesn't do anything more.


Decal on the other hand is VERY heavy in the DirectX department, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it had something to do with it. From what I've found in the past however, most of those errors are due to the lack of Video Memory or the proper drivers for their Video Card.

Yeah I fully understand its not on the Dual Clients side, Drak, but for some reason it worked perfectly fine for a lot of logins before but as soon as I tried to utilize Spies and Lifetank at once it went bogus on me.


And once I started troubleshooting, by eliminating each plugin and then Decal itself, I was still getting the error. I also went and got the lastest up to date drivers for my vid card as well (ATI X850 256MB Platinum Edition with 1gig DDR@533MHZ RAM) and it still didn't solve it. Like I said before too I really need to do a good clean reformat and possibly add a little more RAM to the system so that when trying to use all those programs at once the system doesn't go haywire.

Unless you seriously need Spies for something get it off your system. I have found with Spies running, the client crashes every time. Without Spies, no issues. I'm running with 1 gig of RAM, and a 256MB NVidia FX5500 AGP vid card. As long as I don't have Spies onboard, everything is cool. I also run exclusively through Dual Client, and play in windowed mode. There is something within the architecture of either Spies or LT that do not let them play nicely together for many people. My rough guess would be it is something within LT because most of the combat macro programs released had one or two plugins they would not coexist politely with. I ran a plugin by plugin check on my system, a couple crashed until I upgraded to the latest, but Spies was consistent with LT running. I just took it offline, it was not doing anything for me that was not handled by another plugin.

Ash, Lifetank and Spies works just fine for me in just regular client mode no matter what server I am on. Its just when I go to use dual client that it crashes. But I also figured out that Dual Client (or just the AC client, whatever you want to call it) crashes irregardless now if decal is on or not. I'm thinking when I decided to try and use spies at the same time as LT and dual client that it fubared something. Heck I might be able to solve this issue by reformatting and it will work just fine like it did before but I was just trying to see if there was a temporary fix for the time being.


My temporary fix so far is to just not utilize dual client until I reformat. Only reason I use dual is because I'm working on a char on DT and I still like to see whats going on in MT while I'm playin away. Spies is primarily for DT obviously
