Just curious if these are working OK as-is.

I'm still waiting on ModusLink to send me my Vista DVD and I probably won't upgrade until all of the programs I use are updated for Vista, but I may go ahead and upgrade if people are having problems.

I'm trying to run LT on Vista (basic) at the moment, with very little luck I regret to admit. I had some trouble getting Decal to work at first, it's running great now but only with certain plugins. Find-it works great, as does Decal hotkey system, but as soon as I activate LT I can't get past the character selection screen. I posted the problem on the LT forums a couple hours ago :

I think I traced the problem back to Character Stats Filter, but I'm no programer so I can't be sure. I'll post anymore progress that I make. Thanks.

arrow-smith: Do you have MSXML (the version that's on the LT site, don't recall what it is offhand), and MS/VB Script? They're under the Downloads section.

MonsterMadness: You should post a separate thread; I have no idea. Try updating your drivers?

Yep, I installed everything I could find in the requirements section of the LT and Decal sites and I'm running everything that has anything to do with AC/Decal/LT at an "administrative" level.

Since my last post I've installed Combater2 and Buffme and they both work well when I log in. But I doubt either of those plugins use Character Stats Filter so it doesn't really help much as far as LT goes. I'll try to find another plugin that uses Character Stats Filter and if that one has the same trouble then I think I can safely say that the problem is with Character Stats Filter and not LT.

I posted an export and debug report on the LT forums at the link I posted above. I'll update you once I check out Character Stats Filter. Thanks again.

UPDATE : I just tried Craftbot, Time and Experience, and HWAC stats. Although I haven't had time to fully test them, they didn't crash Acclient and their UIs are present and acting apropriately. I'll keep trying other plugins but it seems that the only plugin I'm having trouble with now is LT. I'll post when I know more.

I'm pretty sure Para researched it some, and Lifetank does not have any calls to the Charstats filter at all.

Hopefully soon I'll have Vista as well and I can start tinkering.

have you tried setting the compatibility mode for DarkSide Filter and LifeTank (all 4 DLLs) to Windows XP?

I didn't know you could set the compatability mode for dll's in Vista. I just looked at where the settings are for an executable but there are no settings like that on the properties. Where do you set compatability mode for dll's?

I've never used Vista, so I don't know. I just assumed you could.

Nope, you can set the compatability mode for executable files but not .dlls. The best I could do with the .dlls was to run them as an administrator. Aside from that I couldn't really see much else to do with them.

If LT doesn't call on Charstats, then why doesn't it work right without Charstats active? I mean, I can log in and the LT UI is present but it isn't functional and registers errors in the chat dialogue. Also why would LT crash Acclient only when Charstats is active?

As I said, I'm no programer so perhaps I'm way off track, but LT must interact with Charstats in some way or they would have no direct effect on one another while active/inactive. Unless of course it were an error selctive to Charstats that is causing LT to crash Acclient, but then why doesn't it crash any other plugin that I've installed? ...... I'm starting to get a headache ......

All Charstats aside though, it's just another shot in the dark, but if you'll notice the debug report that I posted on the LT forums, there is an error listed that involves "clsRemoveCmd.RemoteRedirectChatToIRC". Now, the one thing that LT has that no other plugin does (that I have installed), is IRC. Could there be an issue involving the new Vista security BS and the communication between LT and the IRC server? If I'm way off base then feel free to point and laugh (hehe), because I barley have a basic understanding of how IRC works and I'm really just guessing

Well, back to the old drawing board I guess. Thanks for looking into things. I'll update if I know more.
