Couldn't find anyone having the same problem but it's probably been addressed before.


Everytime I try to download Decal is runs fine and downloads ok but when I click update I get the same message "A file being updated is in use - close programs and try again" and follows the message up with "our Decal components have been updated" yet everything remains red X'd. I've deleted and redownloaded decal quite a few times and no luck. Erased lifetank and ran with no plugins still nothing. Brand new laptop that took a while to get AC to even run. Off Vista Premium. I know Lifetank doesnt work but decal should, right?

firstly, Plugins, 0, LifeTank XI, <No Version>, {910C0F8E-827A-4E35-A980-50D57D0B1296} looks wrong.. considering it says "No Version"


second, do you have the killbit.xml file in your Decal directory?

thanks for getting back to me drakier. im checkin on the killbit.xml. what happens is it gets to 4/5 updating and then says its busy. i did however see something for a split second that couldve been killbit.

OK I fiddled around and can now get it to update (don't know why I couldn't for a week but oh well) but just can't get it to show up IG. Probably a problem someone elses had so I'll check the decalboards. Probably has to do with my C++ libraries? Either way, I posted a new export if you wanna take a look at it to see if something that jumps out at you. Thanks again

That should be set to Automatic, and should be running.


If you don't know how to get to it, click Start->Run and type "Services.msc" and press OK.


When the Services panel comes up, find the one that says Protected Storage and double-click it.


Set the Startup Type to Automatic, then click the button that says Apply. After that, click the button that says Start, then click OK.
