I am not looking for any advanced functionality like moving, healing, looting or such.


I am just tired of hitting "del" like 3million times to kill big mobs

you're looking for a "Smart Caster" of types.


I'm not sure if one exists yet, but Gouru was planning work on something that does basically exactly what you're asking.

That is what I'm looking at for a future release of either Make It! or a new plugin Kill It!


The basic design goal is to allow for true attended macroing. Without you active at the keyboard, nothing will happen. The minimum interaction is one keypress per monster kill (basically trying to make the mage experience more like the melee experience for those that want such a thing)


It is all very drawing board at this point however.


Though simple 'start casting' and a 'stop casting' hotkeys would not be hard to add. You'd want to keep a close eye on your health


Maybe some features to have it automatically stop casting if health/mana drops below a given level.

Lifetank is designed for hands off macroing, which IMHO leads to UCM.


My plugin will be for those that want to do more than just watch their toon fight.

I know Gouru going to shot me .. But I use LifeTank for that by way of the "pause button". I activate the "Macro" on LTx, then hit the pause. Then as I come upon a mob, I hit resume .. then after clearing the mob, I hit pause. I use this same method to work my way through a dungeon on either mage or melee toons.


A great improvement to this without using ElTank or LifeTank was using the Cast It! program. Previous to Cast It! was the original "Einstein" plug-in. And the introduction of "AC+" plug-in is a great addition to Cast It!


But there is nothing simular to Cast It! for a melee toon.

Why not have the program also recharge you? even when you are not in the act of fighting.


You could even have it select your First/Next target just like a melee.


Might even want to add an option to turn on different debuffs (Via checkboxes) to throw before casting the killing spells.


But it would still require you to make a key press to start casting any magic on the currently targeted creature.


This could even be set to 7 keys, one for each type of damage (I hunt outside alot and therefore I am killing more than one damage type creature). This would need to a) switch to the correct damage wand (can be a pre-set in the configuration), throw the correct damage vuln and any other debuffs.


In aditional, incorporating rings and walls in there somehow.

I've considered recharging as an option. My original design thought though was to make it as similar as using auto-attack on a melee as possible. In that mode, melees have to stop to restam or heal. Admittedly, mages probly need to recharge more often than melees, which is the only reason I'm even considering it.


I'll play test without recharging and see what I think. Ultimately, I write plugins to match my playstyle. If they happen to match that of other people as well, so much the better.
