Been having this bug for a long time:

If I log in and out a few times, when I come back in with my main the drop downs for profiles (Buffs, Loot, Macro) all are set to default.

If I drop down the selector to load my mains profile, nothing shows up (none of the saved profiles).

Have to quit out of AC, quit out of Decal, and delete the default folder under profiles.

When I log back in (with my main), it is set to my mains saved profile (all is well).

I checked the directory structure with another user who's ltx is working, I have the same directory structore and from all outward appearances my install looks the same.

I did try reinstalling a while ago, never got rid of the bug.

Anyone have any idea why this may be happening ?

Appreciate your time.

I was wondering about salvage. Which profile specifically handles this? I have never been able to save any profiles, then use them on another toon in regard to salvage. It sure makes it a pain to set up, especially on the occassions when the issue we are discussing here happens.

Another question as well, there are a GAZILLION monsters listed in mobs. Is there a "select all" command that we can use to make all the i,v, etc boxes become checked? It is a lot easier to find a monster and turn it off, than to turn many of them on. Because we choose to vuln, imperil, etc in our attacking area, it would just make it easier to go the other direction.

Possible to stay on the original question?

And btw, I always thought that the save profile is not for multiple characters, it's for multiple profiles on the same character. Like when you hunt one area and want to loot a lot, and another just to salvage. I believe the profiles get saved to the Characters folder. So I dont know if they are going to show up when you drop down playing a different character (as you would be in a different folder).

Any idea why mine keeps going back to default and showing none when I drop the menu down?

Sorry for piddling on your cheerios there dude.

I did happen to say that this issue also effects me as well, I just went a step farther thinking that the other issue could be related. I am so very sorry for interrupting your personal session with the developer.

What I to 'fix' that is I browsed to the profiles in windows explorer, opened the monsters list, and did a replace all on the vuln=0 to make it vuln=1 (I'm pretty sure that's the string I changed). That should make all the monsters default to vuln and then you can remove the ones you want later.

Jax, sounds like it's not able to write to your Profiles directory. Check in there to see if anything besides Default exists... If not, they you have a folder permissions problem.

Lets not get our undies twisted :-)))

What you asked wasnt the same problem I was having (niether the first question about salvage, which btw didnt make sense because the program wont let you access profiles you save under one character when you are logged in to another characher. Thats why there are seperate folders for each character, when you save a profile under one character, its saved in that characters folder, when you log in with another character, its looking at that characters folder so it cant see what you saved under the last character, or the second question about vulning). Just trying to get the answer to the question I asked when I started the post rather than some other question?

Look two posts down, someone was kind enough to solve your vuln attribute problem, now lets see if the original question can be sorted out.

Thanks Xeon

The Ltx/data/profiles directory has folders for all the characters I have logged on while ltx was running.

There is one folder for each character, a default folder and a "LocalPlayer" folder.

Pretty sure it can write to the profiles folder because when I have the problem, if I go out and delete the default folder it does show the proper character folder when i load it all back up with any changes I saved under each profile.

Ill go out and see if I can find anything on "Folder Permissions" (hope you mean like right clicking each folder and seeing if its marked read only, cuase other than that, I dont know if I know where to look ? Would it be a registry thing?)

Thanks for your time.

Edit : Hmmmmmm....thats strange ? When I checked the properties of the Ltx folder it had Read only with a light grey check in the box ? I unchecked it and did apply and answered "do this to all subfolders and files", but it doesnt stay? If I go back and check, still has the grey checkmark (not like a regular checkmark, that would be black, it's greyed, like what they do when you are not able to change an item on a tab).

Then I went and checked other folders in My Programs, they all have the Read Only grey checked? Well its either because some windows internal folder file (desktop.ini) is a system file and is normaly hidden (I have folder options set to show all files, even system fles) or something is not right with the whole programs directory.

Ill poke around in google and see what I can find.

Thanks for the tip, if it turns out to be related to that grey checkbox, I never would have thought to look :-)

AH.....ok....something to go on. Apparently the greyed out check on read only is normal, its tere because i set all folders to display with small icons and in windows classic view, so they all have a desktop.ini.

That explains the check box, but doesnt explain whats going on with my Ltx ?:-)

Oh well, I'll go see if any files in any of the foldsers has a read only checked.

The stuff I found on the folder attributes in Win XP follows:

When a folder has the Read-Only attribute set, Windows Explorer reads the

Desktop.ini of that folder to see if any special folder settings need to be

set. That is all Read-only means for a folder.

The Read-only check box in Folder Properties does NOT apply to the folder.

The Read-only check box for folders is there for convenience, it allows you

to change the Read-only attribute of all the files contained in that folder.

The Read-only check box indicates whether the files in the folder are

Read-only, NOT the folder. If you select this check box all of the files

in the folder will be Read-only. If you clear the check box, none of the

files in the folder will be Read-only. If the check appears green or gray,

then some of the files in that folder MAY be Read-only.

If the check appears green or gray, it indicates either a mixed (some of the

files may be Read-only) or undetermined condition. Windows Explorer

displays the green or gray check because it would take too long to verify

the state of the read-only attribute for every file in the folder.

If anyone has an answer for whats happening to me, I'd appreciate it :-)
