Hmm,
Well I run through a wireless router. I was using Mcafee firewall but i disabled it and started using windows firewall, and that didnt change anything, i still get booted from server at the same time. I notice the more times i log in the further I get, but never past being purple. I don't have a desktop that I can change firewall settings on, so I dont think that would help. I've allowed all AC related programs thru the firewall and that doesn't do anything either. Still lost and lookin for ideas.

Switching to LifeTank XI from X fixed the problem. THanks for everyone's input!

what kinda router u using??? I get the same portal space bullcrap without using LTX but im on a belkin router........I can chat, see everyone else talking, and everything but i never get outta portal space and dc after 40 seconds..........got all my firewalls disabled on both computers and i have to keep my laptop in the DMZ part of my router so that it will connect at all........

I had a problem similar to this right after the patch. I got stuck in world and just had a black screen where my character and enviroment should be. I kept getting disconnected also. All I did was keep trying to log in on different characters and then try again on my main guy. I did it a few times and it just ended up working.
I noticed I got the furthest into the world on one of my mules and then I tried again with my main and everything worked after that using LTX
