I did some troubleshooting this last night with Grimbold but he is still not sure what is going on.

for some reason when I re-installed castaways again with him, it made the following folder paths

1-
My Documents/Castaway/Logs/Leafcull/Red Scourger
My Documents/Castaway/Settings/Leafcull/Red Scourger

the CastAway.dll is in the Castaway folder

2-
C:/Program Files/Castaway/Logs

the CastAway.dll is in the Castaway folder there too

so it's got him stumped as to why it is doing this.

Because that is where it should be creating the log files now. This was done as writing folders located under Program Files can cause issues in the latest versions of Windows.

okay, if installing in program files is the cause of the problems, do I now install it only into the My Documents?

Installing the DLL to Program Files is okay. I should be posting a new install file tonight you can try out.

Maybe you need to totally remove everything related to castaway from the pc.. including removing the entry from the registry. Then reboot and reinstall.
