I just changed over from a cable modem to DSL. I have internet access, I can load AC, do my log in info, I get to the connection screen it does the blue spiral for connection, gets to the blue spiral for update but does not update, then says connection to the server lost. I checked my router and modem everything things fine, tech didn't change any ports on router. I unplugged both for 30 sec then tried again after they reset, and samething. Is there anything I missed or need to do when changing to DSL? I have always used cable, but charter was very bad for internet service. Any help greatly appreciated!! thanx in advance!!!!

Try disabling all plugins, the acdc core filter, and the darkside filter and see if it still happens.

Is your dsl modem in bridged mode?

Did you try forwarding the ports of your router?

Is your dsl using nat or napt? If it's using napt, you should call them up and see if you can use nat.

Scroll to the bottom of the first page and select your router/modem. Next, select asheron's call. It will walk you through step-by-step on how to forward ports for asheron's call and what ports you need.

before I did what Salo posted last I called my internet provider to see if they run NAP or NAPT. It seems they run NAPT,and when we tried to change it over we get... NAT private (LAN) IP address is undefined or invalid. Does this mean that I can't use this provider to play AC? or do I have another option?

I think it has to use NAT. You may want to post on the turbine tech support forums about this and see if Sev has any ideas. The last patch was suppose to fix a lot of the router issues, but I guess it didn't work with yours.

well I actually find an answer on the turbine page, since my internet provider doesn't support NAT I will not be able to play AC due to this. its in one of the frequently asked questions section under unable to connect.
