some questions about melee combat with vtank |
1. Is there a way to attack different monsters and different attack heights?
2. Is there a way to only attack monsters of the same name but are not wielding a shield?

1. yes if you are using fingers 2.0 you can hot key the attack heights and then change as you go. this of course means you are at the keyboard as Vtank is an ACM tool not a UCM tool.
2. again fingers 2.0, otherwise no.

is it too difficult to now and then hit one key to change attack heights?
if so move on to something more your speed.
well that sounds a bit harsher then i actually intended. but dang big of an easy button do folks need? probably at this late stage of Vtank, designing a height for melee/archers is more work then necessary for folks SUPPOSED to be at the keyboard. possibly if she had thought of it during the intial design phase would have been easier to install. Assuming she, VI, agrees with the idea.

not that easy as one button
I have my character only attack monsters that i can hit. I am not going to change what monsters i attack everytime i feel like changing the attack height

Good to know the best melee, archer, and mage in AC has these kinds of problems. It kind of levels the playing field for the rest of us.

difficult?
you can set one button to attack low, another for mid and a 3rd for high. so changing is as simple as depressing that button while your toon is running up to the new mob
i'm sorry, but if that is TOO much effort for you, find another game to play. maybe tic tac toe or connect the dots???

Control-delete, control-end, and control-pgdn are the default hotkeys to set the attack height. Right now that is all you can do to change it.
I have never personally found the need to change attack heights. Just attack low and you can hit any monster.

Things like Tukora rock-throwers are hard to hit low.

cant hit wasps with low attack, and cant hit verdant moars with anything but a low attack
and i might as well not use vtank if im gunna be hitting the attack hotkeys everytime anyway
