Does anyone else have problems getting the buffbot to recharge items with mana charges? I have it set to recharge with stones from inventory, but it never does. I have to refill the focusing stone manually each time. I only had castaway installed and it did not work. I just installed lifetank to get it to refill the items, but that refills every item instead of just the focusing stone.

Enabled brill is checked and recharge items from stones in inventory is checked in Castaway. Also, I have put superb, titan, and massives on the bot.

my bots wear wise/adept armor and doesn't rely upon majors ect that require mana.


requires less pack space as NO mana stones/junk to support it. they are high enough just buffs would be enough to cast spells but the wise/adapt no mana buffs are just like wearing majors.

This isn't for buffing. The bot is 200+. Its for the brill that it can do with the focus stone. It isn't recharging the stone so it stops being able to brill people.

oh, you said ITEMS not focus stone.


now that it's a bit clearer, check your spells xml file out of the box the bot only takes/uses ONE specific type of mana stone. you probably have been giving it the wrong ones. to ou they all the same, to the computer five does NOT = 5

The xml does not contain a setting for which charge type to use. I checked that first. The type is set within the code itself as far as I can tell. As often as I help people on here, I think you know I would check something like that first. I am looking for someone who has seen this before or if anyone else has the same problem.

I did say focus stone in my first post. You have to read beyond the first line.

the check for brillance is on the menu box, if you uncheck the free, THEN the bot asks for a specific mana stone TYPE prior to doing the brillance. and it only accepts those types inserted into an xml.


from the way you ae describing, i suspect you have the free option enabled, and thus are storing the mana stones your self.


OR that is how i remember it, cause i edited an xml file to change the types of charges that were acceptable a year or so ago.


AND now i can not find it.


the other line is the The Bot/My buffs toggle for recharge items iwth mana charges from inventory. I beleive that is for equipped stuff. like armor/jewerly ect. and wouldn't include the focus stone used for brillances (unless of course you use the focus stone full time instead of a drudge scrying orb for it's mcm bennies).

Agnari I am not trying to mean, but please go back and really read my original post. Everyone of those options I already stated were checked. Also, like i said in one of the previous post there is no settings in any XML to adjust which mana charge the bot will use. I have been running Castaway for as long as I can remember and modified the XML files in just about every way possible at one time or another. I have also made my own decal plugins and am familiar with how Decal works.

What I am trying to do is find someone who has run into this exact problem before or is having this exact problem now. If no one else is having the issue then it must be something on that PC and I can narrow down the problem until I find out what is wrong with that PC.

there WAS at one time a change for the mana charge accepted for brillance commands.


HOWEVER, in this latest version I can NOT find it (suspect it was removed).


why not write the author if you are having a problem no body esle is capable of helping you with.

If that option was in the xml files it was many many many years ago. I setup Castaway so long ago I do not remember when it was. I think you are just thinking it should be in the xml because it does makes sense for it to be there, but if it was in the xml it was many years ago. And just so you know, I already sent an email to the author of the plugin and she is going to look into it. A full rewrite of the Castaway bot I do not think has been done since ToD was released. That was 2005? I can't even remember now because it has been so long. That last patch maddy put out only allowed for the bot to run when someone had augmented all of their foci off the character. If the mana stone option was in the xml it would have to be before the release of ToD.

I am not doubting your intelligence. I am doubting your knowledge of this subject. By not reading the original post fully and then continuing to post just so you can defend your post you have made it harder for me to find the information I need, Which is to see if anyone else is having this same problem.

I haven't run castaway for some time now so I can't confirm if this works or not. Maybe I can take the time to test it out...
It would be nice if the bot could use the baby bunny booty for Brill instead.


Oh, and I believe it was a superb mana charge the bots requested when you asked to provide a charge to get brilled. So you have that part covered
