Alpha 5 did not equal 2965, that was actually 2930. 2960 was Alpha8. We're technically somewhere in A9 territory, but we decided to drop that nomenclature.

I am also CRASHING to desktop everyime , since i have installed the 2.9.6.4 version. I have tried everything and now cannot even revert back to the old version due to a DLL issue.

I heavily rely on decal to play AC and I have spent hours trying to fix this client crash with the new version. I really dont want to quit AC can someone please help me out.

Try disabling all the plugins and see if you can get IG.
Then add one plugin at a time to figure out which plugin.

with it not showing up in game often that is the d3dx9 issue but you got that installed, did you run the stickup version/link for the developer stuff of d3dx9?
