So I assume that no one is using Lifetank XI anymore.. I say that because I think the last installer I published still had the auth server crap in it, and I'm pretty sure none of those work anymore.

With VTank around is there any demand for LT anymore?


I'm asking because I've been going through some of the older files on my webserver and I think I've found the source code for the last release I made with it. It's all written in VB6.0 and should all still be here.

So if anyone is interested in seeing or modifying the source code, I'll put it somewhere if you want to tinker with it. I've not played AC in quite some time, so I have no idea of the last working status of the plugin/source or if it even works with Decal anymore.

i use life tank all the time and have really no issues with it. I dont use it on my void mage and I do not have a 2h toon so i cant say how they work on it. Would like to see some updates done to it though. Would be nice if someone did work on it some.

I presently use the VTank interface. But between the classics of El Tank, LifeTank (both X and XI), and VTank .. I enjoyed the LifeTank interface the most. Each of them had their ways. But I kinda wish the XI might come back. Not a easy 'wish', considering the amount of work that the developers need to do to provide us with them.


One of the things I enjoyed in that interface was some of the detailing controls built into it. Being able to play a level 6 mage toon is a example.


As much as I write VB, I do not write Decal .. and wish I could, to take this classic on.


My 2 cents worth on the subject.

To be honest, when I started messing with LT XI, I never had any experience at all with decal... none whatsoever. And my VB6 experience was (and still is) very limited.

I just have this uncanny skill to read source code (that's already written and working ) to make small changes and find bugs in it and try to fix it. Later on in XI's life I had some help (Para) and got brave and started adding stuff in, which would include the auth server code as well as the encryption it used.

But I haven't played AC in many years now, and I have no desire to. I don't have the time to mess with any plugins. I just thought it was interesting that the source code was still on my server and thought someone may take interest in messing with it.

I may post a link later today for those who want to download it. Of course, I offer no help or any guarantees because I have absolutely no idea how any of it works anymore. It seems it was commented fairly well, so that helps. But how the plugin ties into the dll that ties into decal... you got me. I don't remember anything about how they all worked together.
