Hello! Maybe this has been answered before, but there are quite many pages in the thread already.

Is there any way to make VTank actually salvage while using Alinco to loot? It seems to loot right, but Alinco seems to salvage only when in peace mode and Vtank never is in peace mode.

Any hints?

tell VT to go to peace mode when idol (a button on main page)

Oh, I guess it was too obvious

Much better than portaltank.

Yay, thanks for this. I recently leveled up high enough to use Greater Deadly arrows and because VT can't use them I tried Portal Tank which is just an updated Life Tank - so its like traveling back to 2005 all over again - even with decal!

Love virindi tank, been workin on gettin it set up just right for about a week now, but there is still one problem I run in to.

The problem is related to the "sticky" position feature. I read the faq and and got it set up like you said, but there is one problem. I like to set up in a corner so only a couple mobs can hit me at once, but after I clear them and he go off to loot, more respawn while in that process. The problem is that he stays out in the middle of the room to kill, and then about 5 mobs hit him instead of 2, and I sometimes die.

I've tried to figure out some work arounds, first i tried messing with the corpse loot range, but it seems like he chains from one corpse to the next and still ends up in the middle of the room.

Next I tried the maxnav setting, but I couldnt get that to work well either.

The one thing i miss from portal tank is this, and the way they solved it is that when mobs spawn, he tries to go back to the sticky position and THEN start killin, thus only having a couple on at a time and surviving much easier.

Any other peoples solutions to this is great as well.

Oh, one more thing, how the hell do the ranges work? they all look like crazy .0321321 numbers, but how many yards is taht actually?

Thanks.

If you boost nav priority (in advanced options), it will only stop to fight when it's actually at a nav point. You want to set the single point in the corner you want to be fighting at, then leave all the corpse approach stuff alone, and boost nav priority. That way, once he's done looting (or is interrupted by monsters), he will return to the nav point before fighting.

Don't get me wrong, VT is way better than PT. PT is slow and dumb in its nav (stops at each nav point). It also does poorly on my other account (mage), so I just use both. VT also has problems with my nav points being too short in some dungeons so it won't stay in peace mod (why - I dunno). Instead it will run for a few steps, then stop go into war, stop go to peace mod, run a bit, stop go to peace war, back to peace... You get the idea. The problem with that is Alinco won't salvage in war mode, so either I go for awhile burning comps like a mad man with no resorces coming in, or I kill my xp/hour with all the starting and stopping.

VT on my mage with a very heavy nav system was getting me close to 28 mill an hour solo, while Portal Tank with its horrible nav and need to cast after the mob is dead was only getting around 8 mill with the save nav.

I think I'll just run both, my archer does better with PT because of the improved arrows, while my mage needs the better nav and casting mechanics of VT. Too bad its like that, and I don't think either program is being updated anytime soon.

If it's going in and out of attack mode while naving through a dungeon, it is detecting monsters within your "monster range" and "approach" ranges. Turn these two down to like 3-5 inside a dungeon.

Also, there is a fix on the front page here for getting the new arrows to work with Vtank. Virindi has made an excellent program, and she also has put in alot of time redoing decal. All of this on top of work. She takes breaks from AC occasionally. Normally after a few months she comes back.

To be fair to Virindi, she did take the time to make a very detailed Wiki explaining how to operate vtank. If people would take 20-30 minutes to actually read it, they would realize how simple and powerful vtank really is. There are many things it can do that most people fail to realize.

Range is set to 3, it gives me an error... Hold on I'll copy paste it for exactness.

Edit: Error message: [VTank] Warning: Idle peace selected with low waypoint minimum distance. Will switch to magic mode.

Hehe. Im pretty sure I know what ur gonna post.

Change your nav min/follow setting to 1.5 or above. If it's set lower, it has to go into war mode and take baby steps to get the nav precision.

I set all mine to 2 just to be safe.

If you have a bunch of waypoints set, this would be the reason you keep going in and out of war mode.

It should already be able to use them. Only ones there should be a problem with are the newer ones that were just introduced.

Just add them to the consumables tab.

Here's some info that will shed some light on a bunch of functions that aren't obvious...
