There is a setting that will loot and learn any missing spells.. no need to update your loot profile.

okay I see it, thanks, it was turned on, just thought I was missing something (probably because it loots and learns so quickly).

Thanks =)

Anyone else notice a large increase in memory footprint after running vtank for extended intervals? I often dont close my client for ~36 hours just log out and idle then login etc, I have noticed with vtank the client increases in size then you get out of memory errors randomly while running it. I imagine someones garbage collection is crap, but a C# application shouldnt really have alot of these issues. Have other people experienced this? found solutions ? I currently run the Virindi Bundle and GoArrow (I can post a decal export if necessary).

Thanks

Are you 100% sure the memory leak comes from VTank? How much memory usage per client are we talking about anyhow?
Decal itself (or more precise: the decal views) leak memory. If I use VVS only plugins and the modified inject.dll by Virindi, my clients can run for 12 and more hours. With regular decal views, clients start to crash after 6 to 8 hours. (See http://www.virindi.net:8080/wiki/index.php/Virindi_Views#Advanced_tweaking for details on how to use VVS only; of course any plugin that doesn't support VVS will not work/be visible using this.)

My Client was up to about 1.3GB of ram. Then again I was not looting all corpses and wonder if it was keeping track of them (helping a friend level so I didnt really care about loot). I will look at the VVS though as it may lesser my profile.

Thanks,

Virindi made a change in a Decal update a few months ago that pretty much fixed all the errors everyone had been getting for years due to memory leaks and client crashes.

I run 2 clients and routinely let them go for 24-36 with no problems.

Are you using Alinco for looting? May be causing the problem.

Don't have the post in front of me, but VI posted awhile ago that there were indeed

memory leaks/issues in Decal itself, and no plugin is immune to them. She said, load

up a session of AC without Decal and go into a heavy combat/graphical area. Note

the memory usage. Logout, and go back in with Decal, no plugins active, and repeat

the test. She says you will notice the memory degrading, and of course we all know

what isn't a big problem initially, becomes a bigger and bigger problem over time.

Add in some plugins, and depending on the coding (specifically, screen drawing under

DirectX), you can go from bad to worse quickly. Bottomline, Decal itself has issues

even when it isn't passing information to and from a plugin; just idling. We can't

really expect a rewrite to ever happen this far down the road. Some plugin developers

have done the best they can with modern and more efficient coding, but if the roots

are not sound, the leaves can never get any greener.

All that being said, I have run AC since beta. In regards to the current build of

Decal, I have run it on a lot of different systems. Some were worse than others,

but I always managed to get whatever I needed accomplished. If you want to setup a

macro and come back a week later, you're going to have a problem there. If you mostly

ACM versus UCM, then all of these problems are manageable, at least that's been my

experience the last 4 years or so... annoying? No question. But manageable.

I think I just need to ensure im refreshing my client every day instead of just logging out and leaving it open. That should hopefully manage the memory issues.
