Even after updating Decal, I still have red x's next to Decal Fileservice and Verson 1 Plugin Surrogate. Any else had this problem or know what actions to take to resovle it?

Follow the instructions in the following link - basically make sure you install AC and decal in a c:\games or similar directory and not the default directory.
http://ac.wikkii.net/wiki/Installing_Decal_on_Windows_7

I also have my shortcuts for both Decal and AC set up to run as administrator automatically. (you still get the annoying popup, but it works)

Okay, I feel like if followed the instruction to the letter, but I am still have problems. Here is the message I get when I try to load Decal "Could not extract version information from acclient.exe" I suppose this means have put things in the wrong direcories, but I don't know how to resolve the issue.

The Version 1 Plugin Surrogate showing a red X is normal.

Make sure Decal is installed to C:\Games\Decal 3.0\ or another folder not located in Program Files or the Windows folders...

Also, I have found that Decal 2.9.6.5 works better on Windows 7 than 2.9.60, might just be me, but it works great!

Is AC installed into a folder other than Program Files? If not it should be...

When having Decal issues and you need help you must always post a Decal Export, otherwise the people most knowledgeable have no idea what could possibly be missing.

So, basically, please post a Decal Export if you want help.

Be sure to install Directx 9c, do a search on google for Directx 9c. It's the first Microsoft link.
