This is standard with Turbine for a long time and is only becoming progressively worse. I pay for this game every month. It is not free. With a free game I would expect this low level of quality but, with a game I have to pay to play, no I would not expect this low level of quality. Are you going to try and blame the cross over from Turbine not being owned by anyone to being owned by WB? I hope not. Because little has changed in their day to day life at the office as applied to the game. You want to say it is because they are so over worked? Lies! With effective time management no one at their level can say they are overworked. They are not paid by the hour, they are salary employees. I have yet to ever have a salaried position at any company ever who said it was not expected to work more than 40 hours per week. In order to do your job properly if you have to get up at in the middle of the night to check something then guess what? Suck it up or find a different job because this one is not for you. When I am working I have expectations laid out as to what I am supposed to do, when I am supposed to do things, and the level of quality that goes into my work. When I fail to follow these things or do not do them at the level I am expected there are consequences involved for me. If I consistently failed for many months in a row I would be looking for a new job because I wouldn’t have the old one.
As customers/players we have to speak up and hold people accountable or the level of product we get will be ever decreasing and eventually just be crap. So maybe people want to pay for a crap product, I for one do not want to pay for a crap product. I will continue to voice my opinion on here as it is my only means of holding anyone accountable for their actions.
If they staff is so over worked and under payed then that is their own fault for letting it get to that point. Stand up for your self’s demand better pay or increased staff. If it is not in the budget for right now that is fine but, work it into the budget for next year. Just like when Severlin said that they cannot put in a trading system in Asheron’s Call because they don’t have the SQL room or a server for it. Guess what? Time to work it into the budget then for next fiscal year because it is time to put on in but, for the love of Asheron please let some people who know how to do quality assurance testing do the testing. At work before any of the regular staff gets a breath of anything new we have multiple layers of quality testing that goes on and I am one of the first people that they go to because they know I will check every nook and cranny of the thing to find whatever is flawed or going to break or not going to work right. My reports on the darn things go on for pages and the conference calls for hours just so when it hit the floor in production it is not crashing to the ground for thousands of people. I do not know who was picked for the test server and what criteria was used in picking them or what they really do on this test server but, whoever they are they are doing a terrible job and have been for months.
Please Turbine find some better testers, fix your lack of quality control, and hold your employees to some standards.
I posted this up over at AC site in a thread but, I feel it is warrented enough to voice my opinion here as well. Maybe others feel the same way and don't say anything. Maybe others just don't take the time to post. Idk and I do wish people would post up their opinions more.
