John Boehner will no longer be speaker of the house come the next congress in 2013.
Note that this is not specifically a prediction that the democrats will re-take the house, though I'm not ruling that out. I'm saying that Boehner has sucked so incredibly hard as speaker, especially that BS right before Christmas that made him look even more awful than usual including that great "photo-op" of him and Cantor staring at the walls in the nearly empty joint session chamber, that the repubs will dump him from the leadership.

I also predict that the democrats will lose the senate. That's not my hope, just a statistical analysis; they're defending 23 of the 33 seats up for grabs, they have a super thin margin now, and at least two of the blue dogs are retiring and will almost certainly be replaced with republicans.
They only way they could keep the senate would be to have an incredibly strong showing in the presidential race, but I predict that one will be a squeaker. I've heard they have "a good chance to retake the house," but I don't have any data to back that up and the source is dubious. There's a very good chance Obama will squeak by and face both chambers against him.
