put some graphite dry lubricant on the track, see if that unsticks it.
If it's aluminum, you might want to use this stuff instead.

Ours recently got stick like that (went about 3-4 feet up and then stopped). We pulled the cable out so we could lift manually. Ended up having to call someone out and we had a whole new box/chain put in. Not too expensive but it wasn't anything we could fix on our own.
