you get that many of any species in a small area and people will consider them to be pests.
My mom hates starlings, because they chase off the chickadees, they'll eat all the food in the bird feeder and are extremely messy about it.
So my mom shoots the starlings, among other creatures she feels are rude to her precious chickadees.
starlings are evil if the flock is big enough they will chase my dogs away from their food dish so they can steal the food.
I have watched them do this.
