I wish I had bit the bullet and gone with a 256GB sdd two years ago when I bought my system.

Having said that, I have Rift on it and it's not that much faster playing than other games on the 1T hdd.

The biggest delays are server related and there's nothing a faster disk will help with that.

I could probably get 7.9 if I overclocked my GPU and CPU

The article I read the other week about the hard drive "shortage," is that prices will likely remain high into 1st quarter 2013.

Yep -- the flooding in Thailand late last year is making it tough for some key component of HDDs to be readily available. Good thing I don't need a HDD anytime soon.

I did, however, just order this: Intel SSD - it's due to arrive Mon.

Damn those are expensive.

Glad I didn't pay for mine (xmas gift), and I know my dad didn't pay more than $100 for it. No need for more than 60gb for the things I have on it.

wow price almost doubled when I got my pc built back in nov it was averaging around a $1 a gig in price for ssd's.

now $270 for a 120 gigs is nuts.

and the shortage of cheap platter hard drives will just drive up the prices of ssd's, companies know this and will adjust their price point accordingly.

Then after an Oatmeal Cranberry and Double Chocolate,
it made my new vagina spontaneously sing the Trolololo Song in an elevator.
