Wife is on her second round of interviews for a job there, and we know about as much about SoCal as we do about China.
Yes, lots of Asians (mostly Koreans, but some Chinese and Japanese) live there. Nice, safe area. Boring as hell.

Yes, very true. It reminds me of my hometown in Cypress. Nice, relaxed neighborhood (although Monteray Park is much higher end), everything closes at dark.
Hell, even the Denny's we had in Cypress closed at midnight. Denny's.

I grew up a valley girl, a little further north. We are in Lincoln, Ca now. Podunk! There is no Denny's. We don't even have a 7-Eleven!

Well, I'm living in Long Beach again. And although Long Beach neighbors Cypress... it's like a whole different world. I can't imagine being in the boondocks... Hated my time at my great-grandparents farm in BFE Texas, where the closest town (of 200 people) was 15 miles away.

Just a heads up though, LA is a crappy place to live. I lived there throughout law school. But if it's where the job is, it's where it is.
The suburbs can be nice, as long as you rarely have to travel into the city.

Sending out mass resumes to try and get a job offer before her final interview with these people. The pay doesn't justify moving to LA...
