I don't understand people who wait until the last minute.

If you have to PAY you do it at the last minute typically.

Tip -

That may be true but when you attend college as a student, then eventually work there for a bit after graduation. The W-2 will be combined.

I had a Graduate Assistantship that aren't taxed, Stipends that aren't taxed, and etc... along with my regular wages that is taxed... So it's best to just wait for the official numbers to be sure.

I probably could figure it out by dividing what I paid out in taxes against the percentage that is deducted.

T4 slips aren't even mailed until Feb. I imagine it's similar in the US too. Congrats on bragging about not having a job.

That's because T4 slips aren't due until February 28/9. In the US, W2's are due January 31.

My taxes are already prepped, just waiting on our school forms so I can confirm amounts.

I got my T4 from work in the last week of December. Apparently it's because our last pay period in 2011 ended on December 22. Everything worked from the 23rd-Jan 5 counts as 2012 income, apparently. I was blown away to get it before the end of Februrary. I guess the accountant there has other better things to do elsewhere, so making up 8 T4s ASAP wasn't too hard.
