Oh, well I didn't know. As compared to being Dead, permanently crippled or suffer any numbero f debilitating physical or mental handicaps, I'd rate my life a 7 or a 8. I'm not starving and dying from AIDS in Africa and I'm not homeless and alone in the street chomping on sewer rats to survive.
As compared to what I consider to be a happy, balanced, fulfilled, established and complete human being I'd rate my life at around a 4 or a 5.

A comparison is a fair question. Yes you can choose to look at it from an optimist or negativism POV but the question itself isn't unreasonable.
Perhaps a better way to phrase the question for your purposes is to ask; How happy (or satisfied) are you with your life?
Anyway, just an idea.

I gave it a 7. I would feel too guilty to rate it any lower than that. I think about 3rd world countries or even people in the US who are starving or don't have a house or a job etc. and I have zero right to complain about anything.
My biggest complaint would be about my moms health. It takes a huge toll on me.
