yeah, at some point I heard Google and Twitter were talking about joining the blackout. might as well shut down the whole internet and send everybody home!

I don't think Google will, they're too big.
I'd love to see FB go dark for the day. Imagine the hundreds of thousands of people out there who don't know what a browser is (to say nothing of SOPA) suddenly becoming informed about what's going on. Congressional phones would be off the hook.

No wikipedia could cause quite a bit of an issue depending upon what information you need.
What I see is 500,000 viruses infecting peoples systems because they NEED information, went to wiki, saw it was down, and then went to a random other site which happens to not be safe...
