If you adjust for this drop, the unemployment rate would be close to 11%, instead of the official 8.5%. - EDIT : That would be the U3 number, the U6 would be near 18%

Changes in Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate are not a strict indicator of "vanishing workers" who just gave up.

Some may retire early due to the recession, yet still be doing fine. Emerging/current teenagers, or college students (age 16-22) may disproportionately be removed.

Even though the Labor Force has shrunk by 170,000 in the last 2 months, it is still 800,000 higher than it was in December of 2009, and 260,000 higher than it was in December of 2010.

Okay so he is calculating labor force loss from when the recession technically ended in June 2009... even though an end of an economic recession doesn't mean the start of job recovery. Especially when it was the longest, most severe recession since the Great depression.

Even though there are 1 million less people in the labor force compared to June 2009, once the labor force reached it's lowest point (DEC 2009), it has constantly increased and 800k people have been added to the work force. So to imply that the labor force is currently shrinking, or has been shrinking (by pointing out a 2 month downward fluctuation) is just flat out wrong and deceptive.

You're getting your whackadoodles mixed up.

BT pretends anarchy, isolationism and gold are the answer.

Aerlinthian is the one doing the extreme conspiracy trolling.

Gosh.

Translation : I don't analyse facts or find credible sources, but instead rely on talking heads in right-wing editorial magazines. The economy has been steadily improving. Even he acknowledges this at the end of the article.

And the Labor Work Force has increased since DEC 2009, so there is no indication that the drop in unemployment is due to a drop in the Labor Work Force. No matter what you think the "Actual" unemployment rate is, it has dropped from previous values. (10% to 8.5%, 13 % to 11.5%, whatever).

It's weird, TRIO, but he doesn't seem to want to have a discussion. Is that due to inability or because he's just trolling?
