how exactly do you jail the people who are causing the corruption when the jailers are corrupt as well? They are all under the jurisdiction of the government. Im not saying you're wrong, I totally agree with you. Something big needs to change and fast, I just dont know HOW that change is going to come about since they pretty much are judge jury and executioner. All any politician has to say is "we're gonna cut your funding" and they have anyone they want as their lapdogs because so many programs are attached to this slowly leaking hot air balloon that we know as a government. They do that on BOTH sides of the aisle so one is not any better than the other.

The only way it will change is if we take the money out of campaigning. Each candidate that gets enough signatures is eligible. Form a govt TV station that gives out equal airtime to all running and a few million in cash from govt funds to run a campaign. NO other money. No lobby money. No personal money. No corporate money. No indiidual donation money. No union money. Etc.
And that's never gonna happen because the people in office like it the way it is.

People complain about political corruption and then allow themselves to have their votes bought by campaign spending. It's not the system's fault, it's the electorate's fault.

This is true as well, but they are two different things. The electorate sucks up the BS like a sponge, but the candidates become "obligated" to their campaign supporters, which are most often big corporations and rich people that can afford such donations.
The corruption perception comes from the campaign ads and campaign trail rhetoric not matching what they do in office, which is tow the line of the campaign financial supporters, whose goals often do not match the goals of the overwhelming majority of the electorate that voted for the candidate and was responsible for electing them in the first place.
