How did the Giants fare against the NFC west this year? I know we beat them and I think the 9ers did too.

yes, they both beat the Giants, and the giants beat the other two...BUT...the giants also lost to the Packers in the regular season, and how did that playout in the playoffs??

Asides from how Canty will turn out, the giants are healthier than they were when they played the 49ers.
Same could be said when they played the pack and lost. The Giants had their better game firing although I'll say that the packers also beat themselves with all of those dropped passes.

Apparently does not matter, they are on a roll right now and momentum can take a team a long way. This is exactly how they won the superbowl a few years back. They struggled some during the reg season, got a on good roll towards the end and went from wildcard to superbowl champ.
Their D is one of the best in the league at this very moment and they have loads of talent on the O side, and teams keep giving Eli 15 seconds to stand around he will pick people apart.
*Another counterpoint to your failed point, the Cowboys beat the 9'ers this year.
