you are lucky that she put it off as long as she did. when my youngest was 4 months old, I left him laying on the livingroom floor in the middle of his blanket for a minute to run outside. I came back and he had his hand in the fireplace playing with the ashes. He went from immobile to full crawl in less than a week, the little bugger. Both of them were walking @ 10 months too.

Zoey is a Bernese Mountain Dog.
Mr Pants lays like that a lot but not all the time. Usually when he's on cooler surfaces, maximizes the surface area he has on the cool floor I think.

Dont think Mr Pants has to worry about being chased, since he doesnt really move  Its the puppy that will be getting chased, but she'll love it so all good there.

We were lucky that our son never tried to climb out. Oddly, he could climb into it, I guess the drop to the floor going the other way was too daunting.

Lucky! Both my two and my daughters two were monkey's. I don't know if any of them tried to get back in.
The worst sound...hearing the bedroom door open without your intervention. Waaaaa!
