So, yesterday, Obama came to town to visit the new Intel plant.
I could see the route from my front yard, and watched the Presidential escort vehicles and police drive towards the plant, which is only about 1/2 a mile from my house.
Along with the President's rather awesome "Cadillac One" Presidential limo. (Google it)

I see the motorcades around DC on a fairly regular basis.. had no idea those were inside.
They are usually like 15 - 20 SUVS long and the ones I've seen have a bunch of bike cops in front of and after the main procession.

DE, the building where I work is like half a block north of the Intel plant.
I didn't want to get caught at a closed intersection during my .75 mile commute, so I worked from home in the afternoon.
It didn't wreck traffic as much as I thought it would, but it was still an annoyance.

Around here, any disturbance to the I-5 corridor bleeds traffic over to all the other highways. Which fuels my rage.

President Obama landed at Mesa Gateway airport, not at Phoenix's Sky Harbor.
He drove down much smaller 202 and 101 Freeways, not going anywhere near the Interstates.
I had heard he was planning dinners in Downtown Phoenix, but honestly after his motorcade passed, I stopped paying attention...
I can imagine I-5 getting jacked though.
