Now I'm going to answer my own poll.
I was the smart kid growing up, and to make things worse, I was a real goody-two-shoes. As a result, I was bullied all the time...I might as well have painted a giant target on my back. Didn't stop me from telling off people I felt were bullying others, though (yeah, I was insanely annoying as a kid). But I pretty much had no friends, either.
Little kids, and little girls especially, are, on average, little ****s.

I was always super tall. Small school too so most kids families knew each other. We really didn't have any of the non-stop torment as far as I know. I certainly never dealt any or received any.
In high school it was much the same. I suspect a couple of the extremely nerdy kids got some grief, but not from me.

I was bullied quite a bit until I got into probably 7th-8th grade. Before that, people would make fun of me because of my small size, my smarts, and my last name. I had a temper, and got into a couple of fights with the bullies, or would tell them off. Of course, they liked seeing me pissed, so it continued.
About 7th-8th grade, I found my wit, and started reducing bullies to tears with public embarrassment. After that I got popular with people in all sorts of circles, and I never had any problems anymore.
...then I came to ACF

neither
very small elementary school
everyone knew each other
middle school and high school I made a few new friends, but mostly hung out with the friends from elementary school
high school friends were a tight knit group
