this is why i wash my car myself.

your prolly looking at a legal fight that won't be worth what you spend on it or having your own rates go up if you go to your insurance about it.

I went back to the car wash and the manager said it was sap, he got some polish and polished some of the scratch away. I went to the auto parts store and bought some sap removing liquid, applied it, and found there are still scratches. The car wash manager seemed completely uninterested in helping me. I am considering writing a letter to the local news consumer protection guy.

Yep. Even the Shammy Cloth type of car washes can mess up your car. The ones that have a wheel that traces the top outline of the car can do serious damage in a number of ways. Taking a new car to a automated car wash? *shudder*

Sorry you learned the hard way Xanzo. :/

Once you left their property you gave the owners legal team reasonable doubt(They will argue that it could have happened elsewhere and you can't prove otherwise).

You're likely either going to have to sue them and be prepared for a legal battle, or have your insurance cover it raising your rates.

Welcome to America.

Thank the thousands of people a year who scam our legal system with frivolous/fraudulent lawsuits for the fact that the carwash will never believe you.
