those are for the women that can't have children of their own and can't deal with it or afford adoption, or some are old spinsters that I've seen have them.

Not that I've seen any in person, but I've seen some of those TV shows where they explain about how they wanted a realistic doll and it's not creepy.... but it ends up being super creepy of course.

Straight up. I can't even see the art value in these things.

I used to know a woman that made and sold them as a hobby though, and she really enjoyed it. It's somehow much less weird to me to like making them than like purchasing them.

I knew someone as a child that had a porcelain doll that was made for her, they actually made it to look just like she did as a baby.
