Reason I want to see it is because I found the books to be entertaining easy read, now to put my imagination on the big screen, it's just fun if they stick to the books at least a bit!

there was a short story put out by Stephen King where a bunch of kids are forced to run a marathon where only the winner survives.

turned my cynical penis into a happy vagina
Then after an Oatmeal Cranberry and Double Chocolate,
it made my new vagina spontaneously sing the Trolololo Song in an elevator.

Ditto. The books are "young adult" fiction, so my kids loved em, and I found them entertaining. The "to the death" reality show bit has been done a million times in various forms, but I found the societal purpose and rewards behind it all to be interesting.

iirc no one was forced to enter. Entering the Long Walk was voluntary, but once you were in, there was no backing out. It was win or die.
