you claim to know yourselves and other people but you truly do not. did you know we are all part retrovirus? at least 13% of your DNA comes from human endogenous retroviruses. you didn't even know the extent to which the idea of yourself is incomplete. you should instead accept that your knowledge is incomplete because with it you've arrived at an acceptable conclusion: "this person is evil".
i've read about "evil" people before in old books. it's pretty funny how often they turn out to be epileptic, schizophrenic, brain-damaged, suffering from tourette's or some other kind of brain disorder. how do you know you aren't making the same mistake? evil? free-will? ha! concepts that simply help you sleep at night.

yes, one messed up guy doesn't disprove mountains of evidence that support evolutionary imperatives. there are plenty experiments, for example, where you can observe how far apes are willing to go to protect young. it turns out that the more related you are to the kid the more willing you are to put yourself at risk. actually the grandparents go further, but that makes even more sense. they are past reproductive age - their grand kids are their best bet that any of their genes will be passed on.
once you get into hormones and neurobiology you find mechanisms that fit the same picture.
if you're about to say: humans aren't apes or our modern society has erased million of years of biology, then i would accuse you of making baseless claims~

While I agree that one life is not more important than another life I also agree it's crueler to kill a child. Why? Because they begin life as totally helpless and rely on us to survive. They usually have to become obstinate teenagers before we consider them worthless.
